OFFF
Briefing
OFFF is a post-technological event, based on interventions with the goal of bringing people together, whether it’s via design, computers or something else.
Idea
For 3 consecutive years, TORKE was invited to showcase an intervention in the event space itself. In 2008, we created the USB Sofa, an installation where people could rest a bit between conferences but, above all, they could share photos, videos, anything, from within the USB flash drives installed in the couches. In 2009, the Offf I Wish digital intervention, let people send wishes via twitter, under the hashtag #offfiwish, so the wish would appear projected in the event ceiling, inside a star. In 2010, the Offferings project presented everyone who went to Paris for the event with a social network of objects inside a bag, which everybody could exchange for another object. All they had to do was put their own names, e-mails and facebook address so object stories could be shared.
